One half of the Shift Gear Podcast, Ciaran is a well accomplished Pokemon player with a multitude of top finishes including: Top 4 & Top 8 at LAIC '23 and '22, 2nd Place at Baltimore Regionals 2024, and Top 4 at Toronto Regionals 2022, while also being the #1 ranked Canadian Pokemon player in 2023. Ciaran also coaches other players on how to be a better Pokemon player, and creates content on his YouTube channel around competitive Pokemon TCG.
Aneil Saini
The other half of the Shift Gear Podcast, Aneil is a long time Pokemon player with multiple Top 16 regional finishes, and a Top 16 at LAIC 2023. Aneil coaches others on improving their Pokemon play, and often has a unique take on the game compared to others.
Christian LaBella
One of Arceus VSTAR's strongest soldiers, Christian LaBella has been dominating the Pokemon TCG's Masters Division since he set foot on the scene in 2022. Top 32 at the World Championships in 2022, second at Toronto 2022, and Top 8 at NAIC 2023, along with a plethora of Top 16 finishes has cemented Christian as one of the top players in all of Pokemon TCG.
Dale Bellido
Once a legendary duelist and YCS Champion, Dale recently made the transition over to Lorcana, where he has gone from stride to stride in his play. With a Top 8 finish in Chicago, and back-to-back-to-back Top 32 finishes at DLC's, Dale has cemented himself as one of Canada's absolute best in Lorcana. Dale coaches others on how to improve at Lorcana, and is a pillar of the GTA Lorcana community.
Etchy
Originally a Pokemon Speedrunner (Current World Record Holder in Pokemon Let's Go), Etchy recently made the jump to the Pokemon TCG and has brought all of his talent and mind for content to the space. Etchy is often streaming over on his Twitch, or making videos about both the Pokemon TCG and other video games in general. In terms of Pokemon TCG content creation, few can rival Etchy's consistency and competitive focus.
Jackson Ford
The 2018 NAIC Champion (Seniors), brokeout during the 2023-2024 Pokemon TCG Season, putting everyone on notice with Top 32 and Top 16 regional finishes, only to follow it up with a Top 8 finish at the Knoxville Regionals with Giratina VSTAR. Jackson also finished Top 8 at LAIC 2024, further proving his skill and commitment to improving at the game. Jackson coaches others on how to play often complex decks on his Metafy and how to excel at the Pokemon TCG.
Jake Gearhart
One of the most outspoken and analytical minds in the Pokemon TCG, Jake has carved out a niche in the space that only he could have. Together with Etchy, Jake makes tabletop Pokemon TCG content that is both educational while also being entertaining. Jake also has a number of regional finishes, with a Top 8 finish at Toronto Regionals 2022 being at the very forefront. Jake is also the creator of pokegear.app, a very useful deckbuilding tool.
Julian Gort-Barry
Now going into his second full season as a Masters player in the Pokemon TCG, Julian is looking to build off the successes of his rookie season where he qualified for Worlds 2024, and reached 17th place at EUIC 2024 with Arceus/Armarouge, a deck no one but Julian saw as having potential. Watch for Julian to light up the Masters division in the upcoming 2024-2025 season as one of the breakout players from Canada.
